As an Aircraft Mechanic, you must hold an EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) to to perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities. The Part-66 Maintenance License gives you the rigt to sign the Certificate of Release the Service (CRS) which is required for Airworthiness.

If you pass the exams of your relevant licence category and fill your experience log-book, you will have the right to apply for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence.

The majority of EASA examinations are Multi Choice Questions (MCQ) examinations which vary in size dependent on the module. There are also 4 short essay examinations and the pass mark for all examinations is 75%.

After successfully passing the Part 66 Module Examination you will receive a Certificate of Recognition (COR), also know as an EASA Form 148.

This certificate is recognized by the EU and will remain valid for a period of 10 years. This means, after passing a module exam, you can use its relevant COR certificate for licence application within 10 years.
